FaxPress Email Integration

Serving as a link between FaxPress and your network mail server, the included email gateways allow fax messages to be sent and received as easily as email, right from the user's mail client.

It gives users instant access to email-to-fax and fax-to-email functionality, allowing users to send, receive, and manage faxes from their desktops, in the programs they are already familiar with, meaning they can spend more time on high value tasks and less time in line at the fax machine.

With the email gateways, familiar email commands are used to create, address, and send faxes, making fax messaging as simple as emailing. Attachments are rendered into fax file format for most applications, allowing attached files to be sent to fax and email recipients simultaneously. The email gateways' fax features are available to both local and offsite FaxPress users and all email gateways can be configured for automatic inbound fax routing or fax notification via email.

Integrating with SMTP Email Systems

The Express SMTP Gateway enables users of virtually any email system to send and receive faxes. It runs as a service on a Windows workstation or server and appears as an SMTP email server on the network, e.g.,  "fax.company.com". When a user wants to send a fax via email, they address the email as:  faxnumber@fax.company.com.

The Fax Appliance SMTP Gateway has been tested in Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and Novell GroupWise environments.  It has proven to be a very reliable alternative to dedicated email connectors, especially since it does not run on the email server. Attachments are rendered into fax documents using the Express native attachment rendering mechanism.
